How do I develop a program for my workplace?

No matter where you are in Nova Scotia, there is a Skill Development Coordinator nearby, ready to:

  • assess your organization's learning needs
  • recommend programming that will benefit your workers
  • help you apply for funding to cover the cost of an instructor
  • help you select the right instructor for your programs
  • offer you support while your program is ongoing

Each Workplace Education program brings together representatives from management, union, and employees to form a Project Team to initiate, coordinate, and monitor the program. Project Team members share the costs, which may include:

  • time release so employees can attend programs during the work day
  • the provision of program space, materials/resources, study supplies, child care/transportation allowances
  • contributions to the cost of instruction
